A Bitter Harvest: California, Marijuana and the New Jim Crow

A Bitter Harvest: California, Marijuana and the New Jim Crow: "voices help crack open the question of why and how California's marijuana industry is directly tied to the racial injustices of the system of mass incarceration. The result is a radio documentary that grapples head on with the reality of white privilege in the United States."

Find Your Spiritual Center

Nothing less than an upward movement in global consciousness will suffice to allow humanity to pass through the eye of the needle that is upon them. Those who master the new vibratory realms of consciousness and find ways to express them in physical reality—in how they live their lives—these will be the stewards who bring in the new age and the new world. In these times and going forward it is paramount to find your spiritual center, the still point within you where you are in touch with your own inner nature. For some of you this means regular meditation, for others it means being in nature, or some other way of connecting with your inner self. Whatever means you have found to center yourself, you must make it second nature. And do it regularly. As this world becomes more chaotic, it will be more difficult to find your center unless you have trained yourself to enter it at will. The vibratory realms of ecstasy, bliss, appreciation, and gratitude are not just elevators of consciousnes…

MetaHistory - A Path Beyond The Consensus Reality

Metahistory is a path beyond the received scripts of history and culture, toward a world free from enslavement to historical lies and unexamined beliefs. Humanity is a species endangered by its beliefs, and most of all, its religious illusion of superiority. To go beyond history is not solely a human prerogative, for the path ahead is not ours alone, but the way of all sentient beings. Closely aligned with deep ecology, and going deeper, this site develops open source spirituality that can reflect the innate sanity of humankind. It explores the question of what is a true planetary view, a way to live bonded intimately to the earth and coevolving with the non-human world. Toward that end, it invites a future myth, a story to guide the species and align one person at a time to Gaia, the living planet....

Two Roads

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. -Robert Frost “We all want progress…(but) if you’re on the wrong road, progress means doing an about –turn and walking back to the right road; and in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man…We are on the wrong road. And if that is so, we must go back. Going back is the quickest way on.” - C.S. Lewis

Stephen Harper just approved a mega tar-oil pipeline that would slice through the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest and put its fragile ecosystem at risk. But one woman stands in the way and our massive outcry could help her put the pipeline on ice for good.
B.C.’s Premier Christy Clark has said she won’t green-light the project, unless it meets several of her economic and environmental conditions. A clear majority of B.C. residents want to stop or delay the pipeline, but with its recent federal approval the pressure on Clark is mounting and now-more-than-ever we need her to stand strong against this climate killer.

Clark has the power to put the brakes on this reckless project, and as Premier she needs to listen to our call.Click now to tell Clark that we’re counting on her to be our climate champion by rejecting the pipeline. When we reach 100,000 signatures, it’ll be delivered straight to the Premier in Vancouver. Sign …

49ers Home Field Offers 14 Cruelty-Free Dishes

49ers Home Field Offers 14 Cruelty-Free Dishes:

'via Blog this' The San Francisco 49ers’ Levi Stadium is making vegan dining an easy endeavor for cruelty-free football fans. The Bay Area home field will serve 14 vegan and 26 vegetarian menu items, with at least one plant-based dish at each of its concession stands. Offerings will include a navy bean curry, a Portobello bao bun, and a BBQ Jackfruit sandwich. Each vegan menu item is an original recipe, created by the stadium’s food service provider Centerplate as a way to cater to San Francisco’s penchant for diverse and delicious food. “[Our intent was to] design a hospitality program to usher in a new era of fan experience, and to match the Bay Area’s diverse culture,” said Centerplate’s President and CEO Des Hague earlier this week. Also, a majority of the food served at Levi Stadium will be made in-house with 80 percent of its offerings prepared from ingredients sourced in California

Washington Is Beating The War Drums -- Paul Craig Roberts - "The movie, The Matrix, is a true depiction of life in the West. The population lives in a false reality created for them by their rulers. A handful of humans have escaped the false existence and are committed to bringing humans back to reality. They rescue Neo, “The One,” who they believe correctly to have the power to free humans from the false reality in which they live. Morpheus, the leader of the rebels, explains to Neo:

“The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you’re inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so injured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protec…

What Philip Wollen had to say about this work,"I was giving a talk in Tasmania last year when this young lady showed up. I was deeply impressed by her quiet confidence and her passion for protecting these precious forests. Sadly, the ghastly politicians and their grubby paymasters will stop at nothing until the last tree is felled and the last wood-chip mill has run out of feedstock. . . . the ultimate ignoble act of boorish brutes.
